Here are 2 of the best middle-range class devices that you can buy for less 200 Euros. The Honor 8x and the Motorola One Action cost about the same on Amazon. They both have the similar kind of mid-range SoC performance that you would expect in this price range. So both phones should be sufficiently capable in 2020.
The power being pumped out of these phones come from 2 different chips, the Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 710 on the Honor 8x and the Samsung Exynos 7 Octa 9609 is inside the Motorola One Action. That kind of performance is adequate, but the Motorola has a clear power advantage, consistently scoring higher than the Honor 8x in benchmarks. The Honor 8x has compelling advantages too. It has much better battery life. This is typical of Huawei phones, as they tend to be awesome with battery performance. The Honor 8x also trumps the One Action by featuring a bigger, wider screen, more tradition screen. Honor 8x may be appealing because of its lighter, thinner body with glass back panel and metal frame. The 8x looks premium.
A key point is that the Honor 8x has a higher resolution main camera compared to the Motorola One Action. It also has a higher resolution front facing camera compared to Motorola One Action as well. Judging from there photos side by side, the Honor 8x is clearly the better camera for still photos, as pictures look much sharper than the Motorola One Actions results. The Motorola One Actions main appeal here isn't so much that it's the better shooter than the Honor 8x but rather that offers more types of cameras in it's multi-camera system. The various cameras also include an awesome action camera similar to a Go Pro. The Motorola One Action's video action camera allows users to record video without needing to rotate the phone horizontally. It's an awesome gimmick, indeed. The action camera is no joke. It creates buttery, super-smooth stabilized wide-angle videos. The camera module is an undeniably unique selling point. What other phone does this?
Straight up saying which phone is better is as easy pointing out that for about the same price as the Honor 8x you can pick up Motorola One Action which is a newer device by one year. So age matters. Honor 8x is still has the older microUSB port. The recommendation goes to the One Action easily, but the Honor 8X remains a compelling runner-up.
